Sigh.
I utterly hate politics. But I just have to comment on the pitiful US clown show currently playing on a big screen near you.
The plot of this show is a political Uniparty consisting of one old clown heading to a nursing home or death and another old clown heading to prison or death, who are both vying for POWER over all of us. We are told by the Uniparty that these are our only choices selections in the upcoming election coronation.
Versus
There was a time, in the distant past, that I thought voting and politics mattered to my life. How naive I was. I no longer think that as George Carlin is spot on here -
Garbage in, Garbage out:
Carlin notes two reasons why he doesn't vote:
It's meaningless
This country was bought, sold and paid for a long time ago.
The crap they shuffle around every four years doesn't mean a thing.
If you vote you have no right to complain
If you vote and elect incompetent people who screw up the country, you are responsible for what they have done.
On the other hand, nonvoters did not put these incompetent people in office and thus have every right to complain about the mess voters have done.
Bravo George, bravo! I haven't voted in thirty years since New York State refused to count my write-in ballots. Politics and voting are shams to give us the illusion that you and I matter in this “democracy.”
But, but Napoleon if everyone thought that way and decided not to vote we'd no longer have a democracy.
No, it's voting that keeps the illusion of the "democracy" going. People think their votes count and the candidates they are voting for are running to help them. Instead their votes do not count and the candidates are running selected for their own grift and narcissistic power in appeasing their DIP (demons in power) bankers' interests, who are ultimately appeasing satan’s interests.
Politicians are selected by the bankers upon satan’s request and installed via pre-ordained vote counts. The vote percentage is always 49.8 versus 50.2, swinging back and forth between both parties (aka Uniparty) depending on the bankers’ and satan’s interests du jour.
And that is why the US now has an upcoming election between a soon-to-be corpse clown and a soon-to-be prisoner clown, and nobody cares as that is all perfectly normal in this fallen and chaotic Godless world.
A clown show all around.
So then I sat back and thought "maybe I'm all wrong and voting and politics is so very important. I wonder what Jesus says about politics." Here is what I found:
Render Unto Caesar
The most famous saying by Jesus regarding politics, when He was asked whether one must pay tribute to Caesar, is † “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God, the things that are God's.” † (Matt. 22:21).
But what does that really mean? Does it mean we have to care about politics and the Caesars running things? Or that we have to keep voting for the Uniparty Caesars even though it is all meaningless?
One thing I do know is that it means money (tribute) should be rendered unto Caesar because money is printed by Caesar and not God. Politics, politicians and voting are also created by Caesar. What then should be rendered to them in that regard?
I believe Jesus would say † “Render therefore to clowns clown shoes.” †
Let the nursing home/corpse/prisoner Caesars do what want, and they can have clown shoes in return, but nothing else. Caesar is not God. Only God is God, and the Caesar clowns are subordinate and accountable to God for their treatment of human persons, all of whom were created by God. Our job, as Jesus notes, is to figure out what things belong to Caesar, and what things belong to God — and then put those things in right order in our own lives, and in our relations with others.
Thus, for me, clown shoes all around shall be rendered for the Caesar clown DIPS (demons in power) and everything else in my life shall be rendered to God. I will continue to ignore politics and not vote as I know God’s Kingdom is so much more than Caesars’ kingdoms. My not voting and not complying with the Uniparty gives me peace of mind and lets me focus on what is really important. I will render unto Caesar money and clown shoes (both are the same thing really), and nothing else. I will render unto God everything else in my life - my thoughts, actions, prayers, thankfulness, charity, respect and worship.
Reject Kingship
When Jesus had presented a miracle by feeding thousands of people with five loaves and two fishes, the people were convinced he was the Messiah and “Jesus therefore, when he knew that they would come to take him by force, and make him king, fled again into the mountain himself alone.” (John 6:15)
During His trial, when Pilate asked Jesus if He was the King of the Jews, Jesus answered: † “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would certainly strive that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence.” † (John 18:36)
If Jesus thought politics and political power were so important to us here on earth, He would have willingly accepted His Kingship on earth. Instead Jesus time and time again fled from getting involved in any politics or being selected as the powerful leader of the Jews. In fact, nothing in His teachings gives even the slightest hint that Jesus had any political involvement.
This says to me that politics, voting, earthly power and all the clown shoes that go with that clown show are Caesar-made constructs and not what God requires from us. We can live on this earth without partaking in any of that madness. Jesus did.
Yeah Napoleon, but look what happened to Jesus. He was murdered by politics.
Yes, Jesus rendered unto Caesar what was Caesar’s (his earthly life as a threat to Jewish leaders and Rome) and rendered unto God what was God’s (his eternal life as Savior of Mankind). The latter is so MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than the former.
So, when the political clown show starts getting to me, I’ll toss a few clown shoes all around and remember what I give to God is so MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than the size 15 red shoes I give to Caesar!
The demonic clown show keeps on going...and going...and going. It is not even humorous, just predictable, pathetic and boring. I am tired of the whole political clown show in the United States. I try to ignore it just like Jesus tried to ignore the political clown show in his time. (Although he did have a problem with the Pharisees and confronted them)
Local politics has its own problems, as Carlin pointed out. Maybe not as clownish as national politics, but many local elections are rigged, especially school boards and school board voting. The common denominator is people and egos.
I pray every day that God give us leaders that are servant leaders. My silent prayer - which should become a vocal prayer- is that we have different choices on the ballot next year. God’s will be done.
