So I have a termination date but still technically employed for a few more days. In the job market. I am in a professional career and worked for a large NY based company, while living in a freeer state. I am very specialized. I have had an informational interview set up by my network, so this potential employer knew my status - they led the interview with "this is a personal thing and we only do what the law says." I am interviewing with a different company, no corporate mandate, just a NYC mandate (if I get the job, I will be remote but reporting to the NYC office, so mandate arguably applies). Due to complex reasons, I chose to disclose early EVEN THOUGH NOT REQUIRED BY LAW FOR DISCRIMINATION REASONS. The conversation actually went well. And, yes, I disclosed fully, including that I had a termination date. Now, my reputation proceeds me, transparency is part of my brand, etc, etc - but I can tell you that I was pleasantly surprised by how the disclosure went. The potential employer even said something to the effect of - employers will have to reckon with how they acted during COVID and it will haunt them with values based millenials. I recognize I have not been hired and that I still have hurdles, but the experience gave me hope. I haven't quite disclosed on LinkedIN under my real name, but I am getting close! God has a plan. I agree that people have the right to practice medical autonomy, regardless of religion or disability status; that is freedom and informed consent. That said, I have and will continue to jump through the religious hoops. My faith is stronger for having been forced to rely on God and the plan He has for me - whatever it is. He has given me much to be thankful during this struggle (including being thankful that we have a substantial cushion because we have always lived below our means). Good luck in the search.
Hope and prayers you get the new job. Being a gen-xer I guess I have an additional strike of being old and a leper. But for some reason I'm not really worried about it at all. Like you said, God has a plan and everything will turn out for the best in the end.
It looks like if you want to work at Applebees in NYC you need to be "fully vaccinated" (whatever *that* means). Good luck finding a job in New York State that doesn't require the toxic shot. Under the bridge here we come...
