A week ago I asked God to let me know if there was anything important he wanted me to do, seeing as I am a lazy slug. The next morning I woke up with the Peter Gabriel song "Don't Give Up" playing in my head. Maybe someday I will do something other than clean and move garbage.

Lol! Pater Gabriel - nice Freudian slip Pug (pater means Father in latin and Gabriel is the Archangel with the power to announce God's will to mankind.) God just announced to you not to give up. Keep on keeping on!!!! I'm going to add your earworm to my list, because it is so obviously a sign from God and it gives me inspiration.

Last night I had my FIRST dream about Jesus in my life. I was sitting in Church and there was an empty throne-like chair sitting where the altar should have been. I was in the pews and I looked up and saw a cloud above the chair and Jesus was in the cloud - clear as a bell and I turned to the person beside me and said - "there's Jesus!" All of a sudden everyone in Church ran up and could see Him too. The people all started running to the chair and started hogging it. I kept trying to tell the people not to go to the chair and to stay back. But more and more people were running up to the chair. Then I saw Jesus walk away from the chair and disappear. I remember telling the person next to me that Jesus looked so thin. I also remember thinking if we didn't mob Jesus and His throne, He would have told us something important. Just a dream? Something more? I don't know.

I have a feeling mankind's time is growing short (although short is all relative for God).

I have never dreamt about Jesus. Sounds like a great dream even though it seems Jesus got a little pissed and walked away from the crowd. I can see him doing that. Humans really are too much most of the time.

Amen Charlotte! I'm not too fond of this time period as well (I suppose we all feel like that at some time). But the key is that we were born, which means we can now have everlasting life, if we choose it with our free will. I'm taking that as the meaning of "born to be alive!"

Yes, it's a good reminder for me too! Thanks for your insight and thoughtfulness and may God help us to find our way in living this life he gave us to learn and grow.

Most interesting post, on two accounts. Confession: I had to look up the term 'earworm'. The Mastersingers (which my husband was a part of, but not in this performance) performing Fenno Heath's Psalm 96 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bnuj1lfzcG0 came into my mind a few months ago and keeps returning. With great frequency. Second, often, just at the moment of falling asleep, I wake to someone's voice and words in my ear. I recently have begun to wonder if I should pay more attention to those voices. Hence, my appreciation of your writing of this morning.

Edit---No--on three accounts. I left teaching three years ago this month, have been waiting to be assigned my next task. Haven't had any directions so far. Having pushed myself so long so hard, it feels downright weird not to have to do anything in particular. Currently, just living in HIs love and reading and appreciating HIs word. I have both time, and mental freedom, to do that now. And playing in the garden, and being a careful steward of the land given us.

That is an earworm! Great Psalm to have running through your head. Look up the lyrics, I guarantee you will find something there that speaks to you and your life at this moment. God loves music (even the tunes of Patrick Hernandez!). I also have voices at falling asleep or waking up. The last one was male voices singing in a choir (like your psalm earworm).

Enjoy your freedom to just live VVV. Born to be alive! No matter what we do or don't do.
