In honor of this past Gaudete Sunday (third Sunday in Advent), whereby we are encouraged to rejoice in the anticipation of Christ’s birth, here are my top five Christmas Carols that make me joyful and happy for the Christmas season. What are yours?
#5 Merry Christmas Darling - Carpenters
Although I’m not normally a fan of sappy Christmas songs, I included this on the list because I could listen to Karen Carpenter’s voice all day long.
#4 White Christmas - Bing Crosby
My mother has a snow globe that plays this tune. Every time I go over to her house, the first thing I do is tip the globe to hear this song. The original is the best.
#3 Oh Come, All Ye Faithful - Elvis Presley
Christmas isn’t Christmas without some Elvis gospel. I particularly like the backup choir in this song.
#2 Hallelujah Chorus - Academy and Chorus of St. Martin-in-the-Fields
How can this not uplift you and make you feel like singing?
#1 O Come, O Come Emmanuel - L'Accorche-Choeur, Ensemble vocal Fribourg
One word - Beautiful.
"Christmas Time is Here" - Reminds me of my childhood watching the Peanuts' specials each holiday.

I like "Little Drummer Boy"
