From Cussing to Crying Out
Paul Christopher grew up rough. He used to “cuss like a sailor” and ran with the wrong crowd. Life wasn’t easy, and while he came to know Jesus in college—surrendering to Him in Longwood, Florida—the journey after wasn’t all smooth sailing.
Paul served in church. He helped in ministries. He even worked in sales professionally. But deep down, something still hurt. He lacked something—something deeper than sermons and superficial friendships. What he needed was discipleship.
When the Spirit Intercedes
Paul couldn’t always find the words for what he was feeling, but the Holy Spirit knew. Just like Romans 8:26–28 says, God was working through Paul’s struggles compelling him to cry out for more.
And God answered through a man named Ted.
Breakfasts, Bibles, and a Battle-Hardened Mentor
Ted was a former Marine. Strong and grounded in the word. When Paul opened up about struggling in his job and faith, Ted didn’t offer a quick fix—he offered breakfast and a listening ear.
That simple breakfast turned into a deep friendship. Over time, Ted taught Paul how to truly walk with Jesus: how to pray, how to read Scripture, how to ask good questions, and how to disciple others.
One morning, Ted said, “Let’s try something different. You read a Psalm verse and pray. Then I’ll do the same.” That moment flipped a switch. Paul saw prayer in a new light. Not as a ritual, but as a rhythm.
The ATLAS Method Is Born
Out of those discipleship talks came something powerful—something Paul now teaches to others: the ATLAS method.
A – Attribute: Who is God in this passage?
T– Truth: What’s the truth we can hold on to?
L– Lesson: What does God want us to learn?
A – Application: How can we live this out right now?
S – Share It: Who needs to hear this today?
It’s simple. It’s solid. And it’s rooted in Scripture—like the stormy moment in Luke 8:22–25 where Jesus calms the wind and waves.

From Daytona to Discipleship
Paul was later baptized in the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona Beach, Florida. But what really changed him wasn’t just the water—it was the walk. Learning how to follow Jesus one step at a time, with someone walking beside him.
Now, Paul resides in the upstate of South Carolina and helps others grow through devotionals, one-on-one mentoring, and the ATLAS method he developed. His favorite verse says it all:
“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.” — Psalm 145:8
Call to Repentance:
If you’ve been trying to earn your way into heaven, it’s time to stop striving and start surrendering. Today can be the day everything changes. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Don’t wait for a better moment. Turn from your sin, believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and receive the gift of eternal life. He is calling—respond to Him today.

This is so precious. Paul is a man that pursues after God’s heart. It's been a few weeks of meeting him on here and I can tell that he's committed to discipleship. He teaches God's word with clarity, simplicity, and a rich depth. Perhaps what impresses me most about him is how he fosters a communal and collaborative space for Christian writers. He's an amazing cheerleader and servant leader. God bless you Paul.
PS: I love the ATLAS concept. It provides a clear map for teaching/writing the word.
Thank you kindly friend
