What happens when we die?
Does our consciousness live on? Do we go to Heaven or hell? Or do we just go poof?
According to our current society, which bucks the whole history of mankind's previous thinking, we just go POOF! That's it amigos. The minute we breathe our last it's lights out forever.
That is the view of people who deny the existence of God (aka atheists) and the view of people who couldn't give a tosser either way whether God exists or not (aka agnostics). I had a former friend, who is an atheist and poofster. He believes when we die that's that. I asked him once, "so what are you living for?" He answered "nothing." He was and is to this day, a very sad, misguided person. He has no joy in his life and it shows. One would think being an atheist and knowing there is nothing beyond this physical life but a final poof, would lead one to live a much more joyful and fulfilling life. Nope, in my experience it seems like it is the opposite with poofsters.
That may be because living as a poofster is not living as a human, but as an animal. Do animals go poof when they die? I don't know, and I certainly hope they don't since I can't wait to see all my past furry friends in Heaven. But, unlike animals, God has instilled in humans a soul, and a consciousness of ultimate death. This consciousness, instilled in us from birth, is required for us to do what we need to do in this life to ensure we make it to heaven after death.
However, according to poofsters, we are born to live physically on this earth for a finite period and that's that. If that is the case, what we do on this earth shouldn't matter at all. Be a serial killer, launch a nuclear bomb, be an asshole to everyone you meet, not give a whit about anyone but yourself right? If you do that, then you will get everything you want in this ONE life. Deny yourself nothing, since nobody has the right tell you how to live this one physical life, and there are no consequences for your choices. So I asked my poofster ex-friend, why are you living by a moral code if there are no future consequences at death? He said "because I don't want to go to jail." But why do we have jails? Could they be the result of a moral code? Animals don't have jails. Where does this moral code come from and why do only humans feel the need to follow it?
It comes from the soul, or Holy Spirit. You can't shake it, even if you are a poofster. When we die, our souls will live on. Our consciousness will continue, without pause. God created us that way. He wants us to live this life on earth ONLY as a means to get to Heaven, and be with him eternally. Why? Because we are His creations and that is the way He wants it.
Which brings me to the real reason why I wrote this post. To deny that God exists and that we just go poof at death, leads to life on earth not worth living, which leads to a society we see ourselves in now. A miserable society of decay, anarchism, narcissism, selfishness, belief only in ourselves, hedonism, and basic doom and gloom. Yuck.
When you don't live your life by God's principles, which is meant to get you to Heaven, then you live by no principles, notwithstanding the "I don't want to go to jail" lament by many poofsters. God has given us ONE life. Not just one life of maybe 70 years physically on earth and then poof! One life forever. What we do on earth leads to our forever destination. He has told us how to get to Heaven and what will lead us to hell (forever absence from his presence). It is a narrow path, walked by few unfortunately on this earth.
If you are a poofster, you have not even found the path. As I said to my former friend many times - get out of the weeds and at least see the path in the distance. God exists and we continue on after death. A poof and that’s that, is just an excuse for people who have no desire to get on the narrow path while living on earth.
Great explanation of God's plan for his children. Forever is a long time so do you think we existed in the spirit world before we came to this earth? I do, for sure. I remember as a young child telling my mother that I knew her and Dad before we came down here to live. She was surprised at my announcement and I could tell she didn't believe me. Well, never mind because I know that I will see her one day again and we can laugh together.
Love this. Thank you, Napoleon
