Anybody remember the 1970's? Good times of crime, inflation, race wars, energy crisis, climate crisis, good ole-fashioned wars, gender fluidity, and of course cheesiness. Wait... sounds like today doesn't it? Amazing how nothing ever changes and everything stays the same. Remember this 70's cheese bite from the movie Love Story:
And its corresponding cheesy cartoon:
Ick. I do. Not only is this cheesy philosophy completely wrong, it is the core of why human society has been and will always be generally awful.
We as a species do not believe in repentance, atonement, or saying sorry for all our wrongs. First of all, because we don't do anything wrong - right? Second, even if we did do something wrong, which is all relative, just accept it as the way we are. Either you love me as I am with all my sins or you don't love me at all. So there.
I've been thinking about this idea of repentance for quite some time now. In my own life, it took me 50 years to learn how to say "I'm sorry." That's right. For all my life I had this aversion to admitting I was wrong and asking for forgiveness. I actually physically could not say those two words. It felt like the worst thing I could do. It was quite bizarre as I look back at it now. It took endless prayers, soul-searching, a trip through the dark night of the soul, and a return to God and Jesus to open my eyes to the power of repentance. Now I can say "I'm sorry" and truly mean it without hesitation. I have seen that repenting, even to those who don't want your repentance, releases a power that squashes evil and darkness in your life. Seriously. The devil hates people who truly repent.
Which brings me back to the cheesy statement "love means never having to say you're sorry." That is the most twisted definition of love imaginable and can only be thought up by a society in total decline and under the influence of satan. It's basically saying "God loves you so much you never have to repent, and He will accept you as you are." Wrong, wrong, and wrong. This is why our society believes a man is a woman, a poison shot is good for you, war is peace, slavery is freedom, abortion is not murder, and do whatever feels good no matter the cost! This is why nobody confesses his/her sins anymore, because there are no sins. This is why crime is rampant because there are no consequences or shame in committing crimes, since there are no crimes.
Consequently, this is why the world seems to only be getting worse and worse. There is no repentance by us, at all to God.
News Flash!
Yes, humans, there is a God. Yes, humans, we are ALL sinners. Yes, humans, God wants us to repent. Yes, humans, God wants us to show a PUBLIC, mass repentance to Him. Yes, humans, until that happens enjoy the crapfest that is this current world.
Satan knows the power of repentance to God, which is why the first step in stopping that power is to make people believe there is no God, or at least if there is a God, He is One of true love and will accept all sinners without repentance. So keep on sinning people, you'll be sitting in Heaven with Hitler, Fauci, Gates and rest of the mass murderers, and oh, there is no hell.
Also, there is no need for our government officials to publicly repent to God for all our sins, since separation of Church and State amiright? Sorry, last I checked it wasn't separation of God and humans, yet we listened to satan and determined that God and humans don't exist. Only the human-created institutions of Church and State exist, and here we are. Why is society so broken? Why does it look like madness has taken over the world in lockstep? Why is no one ever held accountable for all that is happening? Why do bad people rule over us? Why do good people have no power? The answer: because there is no true repentance to God, either on a micro or macro basis.
So what exactly is repentance? Just saying "sorry God, oops, my bad, I got caught!" Nope. That is called remorse, and if only we had that in society at least that would be a start. But we don't even have that anymore. Nobody has remorse for anything. Thus, forget about repentance, which is being remorseful for past sin and vowing not to sin in the future. Holy Moly say what! Owning up to doing bad and then saying I will try to do better in the future? No way! Remember, love means never having to say you're sorry for your sins, and it certainly means never having to live a future life sinning less. Right? That's what society says and that's why we are living in an age of complete and utter crap.
What if society did the complete opposite, what would happen? Well, Jesus talks about this when he says †"At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here." †(Luke 11:32) What Jesus is talking about is the Old Testament story where the entire city of Nineveh was going to be destroyed by God for its wickedness, but after heeding the preaching of Jonah for repentance, everyone, including the head honchos of the city actually physically put on sackcloths and fasted in repentance to God. As a result, God spared Nineveh from its destruction. (Jonah 3) Well now Napoleon, that's just an old wive's tale and never really happened. Wrong. Jesus was a real person and he told a real story of a real city that really repented in public to God with a real result of salvation.
We can do that too. It's time the head honchos of this world repent in public to God for the evils they and us have and are continuing to do. It's time God is brought back into society and into our lives. We can repent privately in our own lives and absolutely we should do that. However, God wants a public repentance now and nothing will change until this happens, that is guaranteed.
Love means ALWAYS having to say you're sorry. Try it society, and see its power.
Mass repentance will never happen. Demon filled narcissists only care about themselves. They are never wrong. In their world everyone else is the problem, they are perfect. Since almost 100% of humankind is demon filled narcissists, good luck with repentance.
God needs to step up and show his power. Time to turn humankind to salt.
Excellent!! You explained repentance so thoroughly. I had forgotten about the story of Nineveh and its redemption. Thank you!
