Welcome friend,
I’m Mark, and this space is for the wanderers, the worn out, and the ones still wrestling with God at 2 a.m. I don’t have all the answers, but I know the One who does—and I’m learning to trust Him more.
If this message meets you where you are, stick around. Subscribe, share, or simply pray with me as we walk this narrow road together.

"For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." – Matthew 7:14
She grew up in chaos, where trauma and instability were the wallpaper of her childhood. By the age of twelve, drugs had already found their way into her story, and by fifteen, most people would have bet she wouldn’t live to see twenty. Addiction had its claws in deep, and heroin soon became her master. At her lowest, she didn’t even want to live anymore.
But God had other plans.
At twenty, her life took a turn when she was arrested. That first night in jail, she had a dream unlike anything she’d experienced before. God’s voice broke through the darkness: “Don’t worry. Trust Me. It will get better.” She didn’t even know the God of the Bible yet, but those words stuck in her heart like seeds waiting to grow.
In court the next morning, she begged the judge for a high bond, because she was terrified of being released back into the same world that nearly killed her. A detective told her bluntly, “Every addict I’ve arrested has gotten out, used again, and died.” She didn’t realize it at the time, but those words would prove prophetic as she later watched friends, family, and rehab-mates lose their lives to overdose.
Yet, somehow, God’s hand was steadying her steps.
Jail and Rehab
Jail was the first place she ever felt safe. She had meals, medical care, even friends—though fear was never far away. She learned to pass the time with card games, makeshift hair gel from Jolly Ranchers, and even a three-layer candy-bar cake cooked in the microwave. But beneath the laughter and survival tricks, there was still a gnawing emptiness.
That’s when she met Conni, a mentor from the “Be a Friend” program. Week after week, Conni opened the Bible with her, patiently walking her through the Romans Road and pointing her to the forgiveness Jesus offers.
She wasn’t a believer yet, but one verse in Matthew cut deep: “Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:14). She knew the wide road—she had lived it. And it led to death. But this narrow way? It stirred something inside her. Soon after, she cried out to God, and His Spirit met her right there in her brokenness.
The Next Step
Through a county rehab program, she found structure, earned her GED, and even started community college. Anxiety still haunted her, but God was teaching her to push through the fear one step at a time.
On campus, she ran into an old acquaintance—one who had once invited her to parties but had really been trying to introduce her to Jesus. Without thinking, the first words she said to him were, “I found God.”
That friend invited her to a Bible study, where she discovered not just forgiveness, but discipleship, truth, and community. For the first time, she saw relationships marked by integrity and marriages that reflected Christ’s love. Slowly, she began to realize that God wasn’t just offering her a clean slate, but a brand new life.
Ripple Effects
Her transformation didn’t stop with her. Over time, six of her siblings came to faith, and even her mom came to Christ. Grace was rewriting her whole family story.
Years later, she walked down the aisle as a bride—tears streaming down her face, not from shame, but from awe. Once stained by sin and brokenness, now she was dressed in white, marrying a godly man who had loved her with integrity from the start.
Today, more than sixteen years later, she is a wife, a mother, and a servant of Christ. She and her husband even helped start a church in Orlando, where her heart beats to welcome the broken, the searching, and the forgotten—just as she once was.
When people look at her life now, they don’t just see her. They see the God who never gave up on her.
She started in chaos, but now she lives from the overflow of His grace.
Conclusion
Her story is proof that no one is too far gone. Jesus saves, restores, and makes all things new.
