Dear God:
Another Father's Day has come and gone. The day always makes me think of my own father, long gone for almost thirty years now, and hopefully in Heaven looking down on me as I write this.
I remember how he was the backbone of the family. Without him, there really was no family. Although he wasn't Catholic, he would go with my mother and the five kids to Mass every Sunday, never fail. He would sit at the end of the aisle, and he was always a beacon to look for after going back to the pew after communion. He was the head of the family as he should be.
Fathers are gone now. They are merely sperm donors or "baby daddies." There is no family anymore, so no need for a father to be the head of anything. Fathers are irrelevant, and that is why You, as the eternal Father of mankind has been tossed from society. We don't need You anymore. You were our "baby daddy" when we were created, and now you can go away. We don't want You leading us anywhere. We certainly don't need you sitting at the end of the aisle as a beacon of light for us. Nope, we're good to go not even going to Church.
As a result of our Fatherless society, we have what we have now. Death, destruction, idiocracy, mayhem, crime, fornication, and all kinds of ugliness and demon-filled actions daily. Even the most hardened anti-Father, pro-humanist people are crying out "what is happening in this world!"
Well, we threw out fathers, and the Father from our lives. Has there always been crap in this world? Of course, this is the devil's world. The difference in the past is that we could take shelter in a family, protected by a father, who was strengthened by the Father. Now that shelter is gone. We have chosen no protection and wonder why our lives and society are self-destructing.
Please Lord, I know we don't deserve it, but bring back fathers into families. Truly, God-fearing fathers who emulate You as the eternal Father. Please show society that fathers are what is needed now. Please bless and rise up moral men willing to lead families. We need that now more than ever.
Sincerely,
Napoleon
Amen
Amen.
