Dear God:

Sigh. I'm tired today. This is the day of the Ascension of Our Lord. I should be happy, as the Apostles were to see Jesus ascend into Heaven to claim his Kingship forever. But I'm just tired.

I’m tired of waking up every day and hearing about more death and destruction. More kids killed by senseless violence. Wars continue, more man-made plagues, more hypocrisy, more of everything I don't want. I guess you live long enough and you just get tired of seeing the same old things in this life. Humans never learn.

I was thinking about the latest school shooting, where of course everything is political and we wring our hands over the killing of children while at the same time screeching about our "right to kill children." Sigh. I just can't listen to any of it anymore. But, the problem isn't political, it is moral with us.

We have no morals. We have no belief in You. We live our lives as animals, mucking it up in filth. There is no family anymore. The latest school shooter - where was his father? Nobody talks about that, nobody cares, like it is entirely normal to live in a fatherless family. Well, we live in a fatherless world since we have kicked You out Lord a long time ago. I think back to my own life, where my father was the hub of our family. He made us feel safe, and secure. He helped us through life and we could depend on him when no one else else cared. That's what fathers are supposed to do. They are the head of the family and are to raise moral children living by Your Word. When fatherless children end up moral-less, society wrings it hands and cries "I don't know what happened!" Yes you do, you kicked the Father and fathers out.

I don't see this society ever returning to strong father-led families with a strong faith in the ultimate Father and morals. That ship has sailed, at least in my remaining lifetime, and that is why I am tired. On Ascension Day, Jesus gave his apostles hope that death and Satan were conquered, and then left in glory. Almost 2000 years later this hope has been forgotten. Jesus is forgotten and You are forgotten. Satan has this world, that is true, and now we are living as if Satan has everything, including the next world, and our souls.

Help us Lord bring back fathers, and strong families, and morals, and a belief in You as the ultimate Father. Without that we have no hope.
