Dear God:
There is so much hate in this world. It has not changed, it was the same when You and Jesus walked the earth. You tried to teach us to love and stop hating. We don't care. Humans don't particularly like love, and prefer to block it out with hate. It's easier that way and we can fit in the world better.
The Israelis and Palestinians are at it again. Over and over, nothing ever changes. War here, war there, war everywhere. Terrorism and innocent civilian deaths, over and over. Why? Because of politics, and religion, and land, and history and in the end - just because that is what we have always done. So it continues.
At this point in my life I am so tired of hearing about the war between the Jews and Muslims. I'm so tired of hearing about the Middle East. Nothing ever changes there and nothing ever will. In all the wars and terrorism in the Middle East, the Christians are forgotten. But then Israel was the land for Jews as You promised them. They have it now and yet war and terrorism continues over this tiny speck of land. Why?
I truly believe peace will never reign there, or anywhere until ALL convert to Christianity as You and Jesus commanded. The Jews and the Muslims do not believe Jesus was God, died for our sins and was resurrected. Therefore their eyes, hearts and minds are all on this world, and not on the next. They are still waiting for their "savior" to save them from the hate, war and destruction they continue to wreck up until this very day.
Jesus was a Jew and walked the promised land, yet He knew the Jews would reject Him and You Lord. He specifically talks about it in His parable about the wedding feast. The Jews were the first invited to the feast (invited to believe in Christ and follow His Gospel for eternal life), and they made excuses not to come (He's not the messiah!). So others were asked far and wide (the Gospel was spread to everybody in the world to accept Christianity) to attend the feast. But lest us Christians become complacent, Jesus notes that one came not dressed for the feast (Christian in name only and not following the Gospel) and was thrown out into eternal suffering.
Jesus did not present Your parables just to chit chat and shoot the breeze. Every word is true and EVERY word should be heeded. Jesus is the Word. Instead every word is ignored at best and ridiculed at worst. Every non-Christian religion and the irreligious operate as if Jesus never existed and in return hate, war and destruction reigns supreme.
And yes, I can hear it now and you hear it everyday from non-Christians and the irreligious - "Christians kill too - with a history of persecutions, war and terrorism!" Yes they do, and if they do, then they are the poorly-dressed wedding feast guest tossed out on his ear to damnation. And then the next thing non-Christians and the irreligious say is "I'm a good person and I don't need religion to live a good life."
That is true, living a good and charitable life on this earth is wonderful, but it won't get you to eternal life. Jesus has a wedding feast planned for us all, for all of eternity, an eternal life with eternal love. Giving excuses for not wanting to attend the feast or crashing the feast with bad intentions, well then, you are expelled from the feast for all eternity. Jesus said so and the Word is True.
So I keep coming back to the endless wars, hate and terror in the Middle East among Jews and Muslim Arabs. Neither side believes in Jesus or His Gospel. Both sides believe they are the promised people for the promised land. You have told them otherwise when Jesus came. But they ignored You and refuse to listen up to this very day. How does a Christian continue to look at this day after day, decade after decade, century after century and not feel the need to convert all of them to the Word of Christ? If they didn't listen to You, they certainly won't listen to me. I can't even get the Christians in name only (poorly dressed wedding guests) in my family to actually start living like a true Christian.
So, I'm sorry Lord, I have to block all this out. There is nothing I can do and listening and seeing the war and destruction of innocent lives on both sides only steals my peace as the devil intends. Call me ignorant, but, I will pray the Rosary for peace and the conversion of non-Christians and the irreligious to Jesus and Your Word. If you need me to do anything else, please let me know.
May the Fatima Miracle Anniversary on Friday give us peace. We can all use another dancing sun of hope!
Sincerely,
Napoleon
I certainly agree with your assessment of the state of affairs in the middle east and beyond. I guess it's easier to be hateful and blame others for your troubles instead of looking into your own soul and examine your thoughts and actions and ask God for help in making changes like repenting of selfishness, immature behaviors and the blame games. It is hard to admit your own imperfections especially if you see so many in others that are not trying to be a better person. I know I struggle with that. I am convinced that some enjoy fighting, fussing, fuming and causing all manner of mayhem in families, at work, on the roads, and between nations. I just hope and pray that people will tire of it all and turn to God for help in being the solution instead of the problem.
The disciples of THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN have to fight each other as THE LIGHT - THE TRUTH - JESUS CHRIST has already PREVAILED over THE DARKNESS - THE LIE - SATAN so the only thing that is left to fight for is which position in HELL each of the disciples of THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN are going to inherit .... the only ALTERNATIVE being to turn to JESUS CHRIST - THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE which for THE EGO of THE PRETENTIOUS HUMAN MIND is quite a feat, while actually only being a little step down from the ladder of PRIDE ARROGANCE HYPOCRISY AND HUBRIS
1As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings.
2“Do you see all these things?” He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” - Matt 24, 1-2
4Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains. - Matt 24, 4-8
....... on and on and on!
