Dear God:
Is ignorance bliss? If so, I need some of both.
I'm at the point in my life where some bliss would be nice. Especially after these last three years of complete hell. Where do I get it? On earth, not in Heaven where I know bliss exists.
Jesus said you will always have trouble on this earth, but he also said to enjoy what you have. But enjoyment isn't bliss, which is proved by Jesus' statement about having trouble. If we know about the troubles, we are not ignorant. If we try to enjoy things here and there, knowing trouble is around the bend, we are not blissful. Maybe bliss is not attainable on earth, unless we are ignorant? Should we want bliss on earth? Should we want ignorance?
So what is ignorance that leads to bliss on this earth? From what I see it's living a life of "going along to get along." Never making waves and never having an opinion outside the norm. Never standing up for principles, and really never having any principles to begin with. Ignorance is closing your eyes to everything going on around you and dismissing everything that may feel a tad bit uncomfortable. In return for living such a life, you don't get yelled at, you usually don't lose jobs, money, relationships, and everybody likes you. Sounds like bliss, on earth. I could use some of that.
Maybe I've had it all wrong my entire life by being a contrarian, seeing reality, thinking principles matter. Sometimes I wish I could just shut my brain off and be truly ignorant. I'd be happier here if I did. Maybe you can send some ignorance my way Lord. Maybe ignorance is humility and You know I surely need that, in spades.
I'm ready for some ignorance, and its accompanying bliss here on earth. Show me how to get both. Seriously.
Sincerely,
Napoleon
Same. But once you’ve seen the puppet strings being pulled, it’s impossible to ‘unsee’ them. Being a fellow contrarian, and recognizing that a huge percentage of my fellow citizens are essentially feeble minded, barely functional idiots, incapable of critical or independent thinking (in large part due to a 50 year effort by those in power to make them that way), I sleep better at night knowing I’m just going to have to wait for heaven to find bliss. In the meantime, I take solace by standing in the breach with my pronouns. Undaunted. Unjabbed. Unafraid.
Blessings to you on this Saturday.
There is no point in fighting what uniquely makes you you. Discernment and proper morals are gifts.
What exists will not just go away overnight, but people do need breaks to get their minds off things. That's one of the reasons I made the recent post about guilty (or innocent) pleasures to survive the past two years. We all need vices, and it's better to pick healthy ones.
I know things get heavy, but always have things in your life to help lighten the load, be it laughter, nature, physical/mental activity/challenge, helping others or a mix of things.
